1. MUSIC: The West End Men at De Montfort Hall, Granville Road, Leicester.
The West End Men are Lee Mead, Ramin Karimloo and Stephen Rahman-Hughes have loads of experience when it comes to performing in big shows in the UK and US. The trio is backed by a full band and choir as they perform musical numbers from some of their most famous roles. When: Friday, at 7.45pm.

2. EVENT: Christmas Craft Fair at Brocks Hill Country Park &Visitor Centre, Washbrook Lane, Oadby.
The fair will include a selection of local craft and charity stalls for stocking fillers and gifts, Beaux and Belles Handbell Ringers and children’s craft activities, face painting. Youngsters can come and visit Santa in his Grotto. It's free. When: Saturday, 11am to 3:30pm.

3. FAMILY: Christmas lights switch-on events at various venues in Leicestershire.

4. EVENT: Victorian Christmas at Rockingham Castle, Market Harborough, Leicestershire, LE16 8TH
Visitors to Rockingham on Friday will find themselves walking into an 1849-themed Christmas with fires lit, the food prepared and the Great Hall table laid for Christmas lunch. Guided tours in period costume will take place throughout the day. There'll be the chance to do some Christmas shopping at the gift shop. The Castle restaurant will be open for lunch, tea & supper or just a cup of something hot and a mince pie. When: Friday, 11am to 8pm.

5. THEATRE: Dick Whittington at Loughborough Town Hall

7. FAMILY: Santa Steam Trains at Great Central Railway, Great Central Road, Loughborough.

Enjoy a double bill of Bergman & Hepburn in two marvellously romantic movies.
