Members of Leicester de Montfort Round Table from Leicestershire trained for 5 months to complete in 3 days paddling 146 miles of the Thames River over 42 locks starting from the source of the Thames River to Teddington lock added with all the logistical problems. Why? well a small matter of a challenge set by Chairman Simon Riley to raise £10k and give it to Rainbows Children Hospice.

With professional training by Leicester Outdoor Pursuit Centre, support of Ladies Circle Org and individuals lending us transport vehicles. So with Kayaks, wet suits and plenty of true grit the men started on the Friday afternoon at Lechdale and with night stop overs in tents reached Teddington lock on Sunday afternoon tired but feeling proud of their achievement.

Leicester De Montfort Round Table is part of a world wide organisation and would like to thank the generous public with their donations, friends and family for supporting the men.

Rainbows will be receiving a chq in the next few weeks.
