Adventurer's vision of the world on display
The work of internationally-renowned photographer and adventurer John Beatty goes on show in the county this week.
The exhibition – Wild Vision – opens on Friday in Loughborough Town Hall's Sock Gallery and runs until March 2.
It will feature photographs taken during John's travels to some of the most remote and beautiful places in the world, ranging from the Greenland Ice cap to Easter Island, in the South Pacific.
He has travelled far and wide over the past 25 years as a photographer, with assignments to about 40 countries.

To support the exhibition, John will be giving a talk at the gallery on February 27, at 7.30pm, where he will reveal some of the stories behind the photographs.
John, who lives in Derbyshire, said: "My work aims to capture timeless rhythms of the natural world, it's beauty and simplicity, and man's place within it."
The Sock Gallery is free and open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday, and 11am to 3pm on Sundays.
