Ambulance stations in Leicestershire could close in major shake-up
Ambulance stations could be sold off and replaced with two “super stations” under plans to improve the way East Midlands Ambulance Service (Emas) operates.
The shake up, due to be discussed next week, includes providing new stop off points for crews and cutting the number of managers.
Under the new system there would be a “super station” in Leicester and one in Loughborough - although no decision has yet been taken on where these will be.
The stations likely to be closed and could be sold off include those in Coalville, Hinckley, Market Harborough, Melton, Narborough and Oakham.
