Leicester Falcons have renewed an appeal for new players as the club gets ready to start pre-season training.

The club will be fielding three teams this year and are looking for players at all levels.

Falcons plan to run teams at senior level, juniors (16 to 19 years) and a five-a-side youth team (13 to 16).

There will be an open training session on Sunday at the YMCA Dome, on Belvoir Drive, Leicester.

The free sessions will begin at 2pm for the under-19s, junior and youth teams, and start at 4pm for the seniors.

Club spokesman Lawrence Grugeon said: "Pre-season is fast approaching and this is the last chance for people new to the sport, or new to the team, to come and get a feel for how we do things at the Falcons before the real work starts.

"It will be a non-kitted session with the opportunity to try different positions and skills."

Grugeon added: "We are also looking for non-playing staff to help the club behind the scenes and on game days. Anyone interested should feel free to attend these sessions."

The training takes place on the 3G surface, so players should bring trainers.

Officials have been re-building the club after a disastrous 2012 season, which they had to forfeit after just five games.

A series of problems with the management of the team meant they were unable to fulfil their fixtures in the Premiership North.
