American football bandwagon arrives at Leicester City

The crowd at Leicester City's home game tomorrow are in for a treat when the American NFL rolls into town.

The highlight of the half-time entertainment against Crystal Palace will be a routine from the cheerleaders of the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars.

The girls are in town ahead of the big NFL game at Wembley Stadium on Sunday when St Louis Rams take on New England Patriots in front of a 80,000-plus crowd.

The cheerleaders are also in Leicester as part of a campaign to publicise the Jacksonville Jaguars game at Wembley in October next year.

The Jaguars have made a multi-year commitment to stage a series of home games in London.

As part of the deal, they will stage a regular season game at Wembley for the next four years and will host the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, October 27, 2013.

In response to the growing support in the UK, the NFL has also taken the historic step of staging two regular-season games at Wembley next year, instead of the normal one.

In addition to the Jaguars-49ers clash, Minnesota Vikings will also host Pittsburgh Steelers at Wembley Stadium on September 29, 2013.

Tickets for the Jacksonville Jaguars v San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings v Pittsburgh Steelers will be released on November 22.
