Clive Fletcher was the top individual in the first round of the Quorn Winter League on the River Soar.

The match was fished between Barrow and Kegworth and Fletcher (Trentside) caught 12lb 8oz of roach and perch.

Mark Roberts (Wigston Dream Boys) was runner-up on 11-7 ahead of Alan Wright (Long Eaton Federation), 10-13.

Wigston Dream Boys were the top team on points, eight, and weight, 29-8.

Leicester's Philip Lawrence had a successful outing to Celtic Lakes, Frisby.

He caught four fine pike weighing between 12-0 and 19-6 from the sailing lake.

Melton's Steven Jackson netted two fine perch, scaling 2-14 and 1-9.

Leicester's Chris Merry caught the top pike of the week, weighing 17lb, on the boys' pit.

Bo Thackery won a 15-strong open on the serpent pool at Lakeview Fishery, Holwell.

He fished maggot and pellet from peg 21 for a weight of 45-0.
