Angling: Rob Wootton lands bumper catch to clinch open
Rob Wootton landed a bumper catch of roach to win Wigston Angling Society's open on the canalised River Soar at Aylestone.
The Shimano-Dynamite Baits ace pole-fished bread punch and hemp for a 6lb 0z haul to set the pace in the 20-peg contest.

Adam Nurse (Wigston) was runner-up on 4-14 ahead of Dan Pickard (Leicester), 4-13, and Pete Jayes (Wigston), 3-0.
Difficult conditions meant low weights in Wreake AC's contest on the Grand Union Canal, near Foxton.
Andy Taylor won with 3-4 from Norman Jepson, 2-4, and Pete Wade, 2-0.
Billy Knight was a runaway winner of a midweek open at Dynamite Baits Makins Fishery at Wolvey. He caught 44-0 from peg 18 on lake four to beat Bob Allatt, 13-12, and Ian Wheatley, 6-8.
Jason Redgrave won the following day's contest on 54-2 from island peg 16 on the lizard pool.
Ian McCulloch was runner-up on 39-6 ahead of Ritchie Hull, 33-4.
Market Harborough's Ben Langham caught the fish of the week on the sailing lake at Celtic Lakes, Frisby.
He took a personal-best zander scaling 13-12 from open water towards a marker buoy.
He also had fish weighing 12-10 and 8-14.
On a second visit, he caught a 12-14 zander.
There have also been good catches of pike up to 20lb. Leicester's Dirk Robertshaw took one scaling 16-9.
Plenty of smaller pike have been caught on the boys' pit on a variety of tactics.
Coalville's Harry Tranter had the best fish of the week. It weighed 15-6 and was caught close to a reed bed.
Melton's Nick Green had an estimated 10lb bag of roach, rudd and perch.
The River Wreake section of the fishery has been yielding pike to 10lb and perch to 3lb.
