Steve Draper landed the jackpot prize and a bonus in a festival series at Lakeview Fishery, Holwell.

The contest consisted of 10 matches fished at weekends and culminating in a £1,000-to-the-winner final.

A total of 17 anglers reached the final on the marina and canal pools.

Draper was drawn on peg 18 on the canal pool. Using pellet, he had a catch of 82lb 15oz with carp to 6lb, skimmers and bream.

In addition to the winner's prize, Draper also scooped £50 for scoring most match points during the series.

Ken Daws was runner-up in the final with 80-8 from peg two and Bob Greenbury third with 77-5 from peg three.

Karl Gillett was a runaway winner of Oadby RBL's contest at Home Farm. He caught 92-10 to finish well clear of George Reynolds, 46-10, Mark Hudson, 42-10, and Steve Jones, 35-10.

Norman Jepson edged to victory in Wreake AC's contest on the Grand Union Canal at Market Harborough. He had a catch of 7-0 to beat Norman Bradshaw, 5-12, Nigel Miller, 5-7, and Jonny Clark, 4-14.

Tom Watt set the pace in Ratby AC's match at Friezeland Pools, near Market Bosworth, catching 42-5 from peg 15. Billy Hill was runner-up on 26-15 and Dan Hull third on 24-13.
