Angling: Another win for Leicester Sensas B
The Leicester Sensas B squad gained their second successive win in the Burton, Trent and Mersey League.
The line-up of Joff Woodgett, Gary Smith, Roger Marlow and Aaron Wells set a hot pace with a total of 15 points in a contest fished in bitterly cold conditions at Rugeley, Staffordshire.
That puts them well ahead in the league on 27 points, with Four Artists second on 39 and Shakespeare Superteam on 41.
Woodgett was third in the 53-strong field with a catch of 7lb 0oz catch of roach taken on bread punch and joker.
Darren Bickerton (Kasman Starlets) won on 11-9 with Rob Parker of the Leicester A line-up runner-up with a catch of 8-11, made up mostly of perch.
Dave Petch (Quorn Van Den Eynde) won the Quorn AS Winter League contest on the River Soar.
The contest was fished between Kegworth and Barrow and Petch caught 14-11 of roach and perch from a peg at Kegworth Marina.
Joe Oakes (Wigston Dream Boys) was runner-up on 13-9 ahead of Tom Pringle (Wigston Dream Boys), 13-7, and Adey Reynolds (Quorn Van Den Eynde), 12-1.
Quorn Van Den Eynde won the team contest and they are joint second, with Wigston Blue, on five points.
Mallory Park Fisheries will be holding the eighth annual Ivan Marks Memorial Match in May.
It is open to anglers of any standard and offers an opportunity to rub shoulders with national star anglers.
This event will take place on Saturday, May 19 and Sunday, May 20 on The Glebe Pools at Peckleton and Mallory Park's Foundation Lake.
Entrants need to stipulate which day they wish to fish as first choice. Places are limited with 100 pegs available for each of the two matches.
Entry is £20, all of which goes to the Ivan Marks Memorial Fund, and there will be optional pools on both days.
A substantial donation is to be given to The Angling Trust from this year's Memorial Fund.

Melton's Martin Freeman caught five pike to 18lb on lures from the sailing lake at Celtic Lakes Fishery, Frisby.
Leicester's Andy Ward caught six fish for a personal-best haul of 18-4 from the boys pit.
