Annabell snaps up top prize in colour photo competition
She may have only got her first camera a few months ago, but artistic snapper Annabell Ison, from Leicestershire, is already taking amazing pictures.
Her shot of a yellow and pink chrysanthemum, seen through water drops on a vine, has been chosen as the winner of our colour-themed photography competition.
The 32-year-old, who took the shot in her back garden, in Groby, said: "I only got myself a camera in June and I had not really taken photos before, so it's amazing to win."
Annabell, who works in quality control at Walkers Crisps, in Leicester, admitted to having an artistic streak, having enjoyed painting and sculpting in the past.
Her success in photography, however, has come with a lot of thought and effort.
She said: "Pretty soon after I got my camera, I started using a close-up macro lens. I loved doing shots of spiders' webs with water droplets with a macro lens and putting flowers behind them to get a good shot.
"For this picture, I put water drops on the vine from a passion flower and the chrysanthemum behind it. It took a few goes to get it right. I just like how simple it is."
Annabell's prize for winning is £100 worth of Jessops vouchers.
Since we launched the competition in October, we have had almost 500 entries from our readers.
