Appeal after Mercedes vandalised
Police have appealed for help tracing a vandal who scratched a woman's Mercedes car.
The vehicle was damaged while parked in Locksley Close, Ashby, on Sunday, December 30.
Pc Paul Smith said: "I would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious. Maybe you had visitors who are not usually in the area. It could be that one of them saw something. Please take a moment to think back and ask any friends and family that were visiting."
Contact Pc Smith on 101 or Crimestoppers, which is anonymous, on 0800 555 111.

“I have also had my car broken into TWICE and was informed on both occasions that the police wouldn't be coming out to my vehicle to fingerprint it as 'they probably wore gloves'. So why is this getting publicity? is a Merc more important than my little hatchback? Or is it simply that my tax money isn't good enough?”

“Why is this such a big story?
Last time I had my car smashed into the police couldnt be bothered to show up. I had a bike nicked, few days later saw my bike and the thief in the bank and again they were not interested, even with the cctv in the bank we could have caught him.
Does the Mercedes owner not understand how it works:
1. Dont even bother reporting it police are not bothered
2. If they do follow it up with this sort of crime they will never get caught.
3. If in the incredible event they are caught and convicted the the punishment will be so pathetic the perpatratrator will carry on as they were.”

“How did this single 'scratched car' incident get into the LM, there are hundreds of cars getting keyed and scratched etc by yobs and careless people every week so why this one getting a mention...........because it's a mercedes or because it belongs to someone who is perceived to be important..........strange indeed.”
