Appeal after cyclist threatened in Leicester park
Police are appealing for information after a man threatened a cyclist with what is believed to have been a knife.
The victim, a 16-year-old boy, was cycling along Beaumont Leys Lane, Leicester, and went past a man walking his dog.
The man held out his elbow and the boy accidentally bumped into it.
The victim stopped and the man took what is believed to be a knife out of his rucksack. He then threatened the boy before walking off. Nobody was injured.
The suspect is described as white, aged about 40 to 50, 5 ft 7ins tall, with white hair and a bald patch. He was wearing a navy blue jacket, dark trousers, dark shoes and carrying a black rucksack.
He was also carrying a blue dog lead that appeared to be made of rope. The dog is described as small and white with black patches.
The incident happened at about 5.40pm on September 15. Police have only just released details. Anybody with information should call Pc Ceri Davies on 0116 222 2222.

“my mum and young brothers an sisters live on that road......think about peoples safety and not about whether he was riding on the friggin pavement....maybe you'd think differently if it was a member of your family that had a knife pulled on them i wonder????”

“I disagree very strongly about him cycling on the pavement although the article only says he was cycling along B.leys lane BUT there is no excuse for a pedestrian threatening him with a knife on the road or a pavement”

“Vik your comment is perthetic.
I think it's safer for a 16 year old boy to be cycling on the pavement rather than on the road in rush hour traffic.”
