A planning application to demolish a former pub to create space for hospital parking has been submitted.

Leicester Royal Infirmary managers want to knock down the former Victory pub, in Aylestone Road.

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust said there were serious problems at peak times with cars queuing the length of Havelock Street and Jarrom Street as patients waited to park.

It has also applied to demolish a two-storey outpatients building in Knighton Street.
