Charities and community groups are being asked to apply for a share of £10,000 for good causes.

Leicestershire and Rutland Community Foundation will hand out the grants from its pot of money collected from businesses, local and central government and philanthropists.

It will be working with the national group Capacitybuilders to give out bursaries of between £1,000 and £10,000 for professional advice for groups hit by the credit crunch.

Workshops for interested groups to find out more were taking place today until 2pm at Voluntary Action Rutland, in Barleythorpe Road, Oakham, and then tomorrow from noon until 2pm at Voluntary Action Leicestershire, in Newarke Street

To book, call Polly Rolfe on 0116 229 3088.
