Desford: Members of Desford and Peckleton Arts Club had many more visitors than at their show last year with about 80 works of art on display.

"That," says secretary Graham Luker, "is quite an achievement for a small club such as ours. Sales represented about 10per cent of the total shown, which can be regarded as successful."

There was a steady flow of visitors over the day and the club made many new contacts, which they hope will lead to an increase in our membership as well as generating funds for the club.

There has been a lot of positive feedback about the quality of the exhibition.
