Athletics: City club's double joy
Leicester Walking Club's men and women were victorious in the second Midlands Winter League race.
The men's team won the 10k event, while the women triumphed in the 5k at Warwick University Science Park.
Jasmine Nicholls recorded a personal-best time of 26min 59sec to finish second in the women's 5k, while Emma Achurch was third in 27.45 – just four seconds off her pb.
Ann Wheeler finished fourth (28.54), Kate Hargreaves was sixth (31.15) and Sarah Lightman came home in seventh (32.36) to finish off an impressive team performance.

Wheeler also finished second in the women's 10k in a time of 61.17.
In the men's 10k, Chris Berwick was fourth in 60.21, while George Smolinski was fifth in 62.37.
Ben Allen was runner-up in the boys' 2k race, finishing in a time of 12.30, while Laura Achurch was fourth in the girls' 2k event.
