Athletics: Ramsey's loving league cross-country
British Masters international Kate Ramsey wrapped up her second successive victory in the Derby Runner League this season – and admitted the event had revived her love of cross-country.
Ramsey, of Barrow Runners, followed up her opening-meet win at Bosworth Water Park with a more emphatic performance over a skid-pan of a course at Burton on Trent's Sinai Park, winning the women's race by almost two minutes from Wreake veteran Sally Newman, with Desford's Emma Marvin third.

Ramsey has been improving in recent months after a serious back injury which she admits still troubles her.
She said: "I felt really relaxed and in control.
"There was mud and more mud, but I really enjoyed it. I never used to run the Derby Runner League but it has rekindled my love of cross-country."
Barrow's Tim Hartley, the newly-crowned British and Irish Masters champion, took the men's honours, getting home comfortably ahead of club-mate Geoff Beetham, with Hermitage's Ally Watson third. More than 300 ran. Leading details:
