Women who want to compete in a beauty pageant can enter over the weekend after the contest's deadline was extended.

Anyone who missed the online cut-off point for Miss Leicestershire can come along to an audition, at the City Rooms, in Leicester, tomorrow.

Competition organisers will also be screening 30 girls who made it through the online application stage and will select 25 finalists after tomorrow's event.

The final of Miss Leicestershire will take place at the same venue, on Friday, June 4.

The winner will go on to represent the county at the Miss England contest.

Applicants must be aged 17 to 24, live or work in the county and arrive in a red T-shirt or vest top.

They will be required to pose for a head shot and answer a number of questions from the judging panel.

There is an audition fee of £10 for those who did not enter via the internet.

However, each contestant will receive a professional photograph of themselves.

The event takes place between 10am and 2pm.
