Badminton: Students will take some stopping
Loughborough Students have opened their Leicestershire League campaign in determined fashion.
In the women's top flight, the Students followed their whitewash of Loughborough Leys by beating current leaders Leicestershire South, Lauren Cooper and Indre Stareviciute securing a comfortable straight-games maximum.
In Division Two, their seconds completely overwhelmed Melton OG.
In the men's league, the Students opened with back-to-back wins, the most impressive being the away victory at Longslade where Adam Richenbach and Martin Drabble overcame fierce opposition to land a maximum three rubbers.

The bandwagon continued at neighbours Loughborough Town, where Tim Bradbury and Tom Gough's unbeaten performance helped their men's second string to victory.
In Division Two, Ashby's fine win at Central puts them joint top alongside Leys seconds.
Harborough, newcomers to Division Four, found themselves on the wrong end of an 8-1 scoreline at Enderby, while in Division Five there were useful away wins for Leicester University and Wyggeston seconds.
In the top mixed division, Abie Frobisher and Mark King secured a maximum as Loughborough managed to overcome Longslade.
Also recording a maximum were Catherine Partner and Chris Hall for Leys seconds in Division Two.
The closest match of the week saw Longslade thirds edge Enderby in Division 3A, despite an unbeaten show from Debbie Merry and Rob Saddington.
Croakers, new to Division 3B, made a solid start to their season by comfortably beating Mundella and only just falling short against Central.
