Cash dropped by bank robber is picked up by girl in Leicester
Cash dropped by a fleeing bank robber was picked up by a schoolgirl who then took it home to her parents, it is understood.
It is thought the girl told her parents about the money and they contacted police following the raid on a Santander branch in Leicester on Wednesday.
It happened at Woodgate, Frog Island, at about 4.30pm when a man threatened bank staff and demanded money before running away with an undisclosed some a cash.
A woman, who did not wish to be named, said: "I was told the robber dropped a bag of money as he was running away which was found by a little girl. She took it back to her parents."

A spokeswoman for Leicestershire Police confirmed a sum of money had been recovered after the robbery. Officers were due to take a statement from a child last night.
The spokeswoman said: "We have had information that some money was dropped outside the bank and was picked up by a member of the public."
Nobody was hurt during the raid and police are seeking witnesses to the incident.
