Bardon Hill Sports dropped points for the first time this year but still maintained a 13-point lead at the top of the East Midlands Counties League.

Sports had to settle for a 1-1 draw at Barrow Town but the four sides closest to them in the title race could not muster a win between them.

The contrast in fortunes between Barrow and Bardon could not have been greater in recent months. However, the teams ended all square at Riverside Park, Nathan Rolph scoring for Town, Paul O'Callaghan with the Bardon goal.

Ibstock United claimed an excellent point at another of the title-challengers. They drew 1-1 against Heanor Town with Chris Lewis on target.

St Andrews blunted Greenwood Meadows' immediate championship challenge in a 2-2 draw at Canal Street. Tom Hill and the prolific Aaron Preston netted for the Andrews.

Anstey Nomads remained at the foot of the chart after a 3-1 home defeat by Radford.

But there was good news for Holwell Sports, who beat Blackwell Miners Welfare 2-1, Ian Bitmead scoring both their goals.

The scheduled derby clash between Ellistown and Hinckley Downes was postponed.
