Leicester Riders star Drew Sullivan has been named in the BBL team of the week for the third time this season

The Great Britain captain was instrumental in Riders' win against Sheffield Sharks at Loughborough University on Sunday, a victory that kept their title charge rolling ominously along by taking them joint-top of the BBL table.

The Jelson Homes DMU-backed Riders dismantled the Sharks with a battling performance as Sullivan produced a typically noteworthy inside-outside display.

Sullivan claimed 21 points, including four baskets from long range, and also completed an all-action line of eight rebounds, four assists, two blocks and a steal.

Riders head coach Rob Paternostro said: "Drew was immense for us, holding us together on offence, in particular, when we were struggling to convert in the first half.

"He has a consummate ability to adjust his game to the needs of the team, and there is no other player quite like him.

"Statistics drive the team of the week, but Sullivan's game is about much more than statistics."

Joining Sullivan in the team of the week is Alex Owumi, of the Worcester Wolves, Stefan Gill of the Manchester Giants, and Cheshire Phoenix duo Chez Marks and Jerome Gumbs.

Riders are at home against Manchester at the John Sandford Centre on Saturday, before heading on the road to face Cheshire the following evening.

Meanwhile, the dates of the BBL Trophy semi-finals have now been finalised.

In the first semi-final, the first leg starts on March 1 with Riders travelling to Worcester Wolves.

The return leg takes place the next day.

Worcester upset Trophy holders Newcastle on their home court last Friday in the quarter-finals.

The other tie will start with Sheffield Sharks visiting Cheshire Phoenix's Northgate Arena a week on Sunday.

The return leg will be played on March 1 at the EIS in Sheffield.

Ties will be played over two legs, with the winners on aggregate progressing to the BBL Trophy final on March 9 at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow.

Rider's BBL Championship game against Newcastle Eagles on March 2 at home will be rearranged for another date.
