There will be no need for Leicester Tigers and England star Ben Youngs to have a reality check when the scrum-half swaps his white shirt for a club one this weekend.

The 23-year-old has been an integral part of England's autumn international campaign, which culminated in an historic 38-21 win over world champions New Zealand at Twickenham on Saturday.

After the dizzying heights, Youngs and the rest of Tigers' England contingent will need to bring themselves back down to earth as quickly as possible as Tigers go in search of a win, and a bonus point, against Treviso in the Heineken Cup on Sunday to keep their hopes of qualification alive.

But Youngs doesn't believe that will be a problem. "I don't think it has really sunk in yet," he said. "But to be honest, I like to play the game, put it to bed and move on with the next week.

"I think when you go straight into the Heineken Cup it's all right because you know that every point matters and we want to get out of our pool.

"When you go back to Premiership rugby, no disrespect to that, you can have a week or two where you are a little bit lapse.

"But certainly not here – you're straight back into full training, you're straight back into Cockers telling you off and making sure you're working hard, which is great and I wouldn't have it any other way.

"Each player thinks about it differently. Some will continue to think about it, thrive off it and it keeps them going for next couple of weeks.

"It was a great result, but my focus is on Leicester now. What happened with England is done, it was fantastic, but this weekend is Treviso, and we need to be top of the pool – it's just about that.

"You can't afford to be complacent – if your head is somewhere else, ultimately you're going to slip up."

He may have been singing the national anthem in front of more than 80,000 people, but Youngs says his heart will always be at Welford Road.

"Obviously, this weekend, we're playing in front of the faithful and at times they are better than the Twickenham crowd," he said.

"It's always nice coming back here to Leicester – it's our club, we've just re-signed here and we love playing here. It's simple – we come back and we play and that's what we look forward to.
