Glenfield: World Book Day was celebrated at The Hall School, with all the children being invited to design and make a hat depicting a book or character.

Two of the prize-winning entries are here seen – Mr Bump and Rapunzel.

Throughout the day the children focused upon work based on the famous author Roald Dahl. One of the outcomes of their endeavours was a splendid enormous crocodile that was placed in the entrance to greet visitors.

An uplifting class assembly by Mrs Njoroge's children rounded off the celebrations.

One of the children in her class said: "I think it has been the best World Book Day ever. It has been great working with other children in other year groups and classes. My favourite Roald Dahl book is The Twits."
