Bolton are considering an approach for Leicester City striker Jeff Schlupp.

The 20-year-old is high on Wanderers manager Dougie Freedman's list of possible targets as he looks to bolster his side's attacking options.

The Trotters are considering tabling a loan offer with a view to a permanent transfer.

However, the Mercury understands City will not allow Schlupp to go elsewhere this season, although there is still a possibility of a deal being struck with Manchester United for the Ghana international to join them in the summer.

Schlupp has been training with United since January, and talks with the Premier League leaders opened this week over a possible deal.

However, Bolton have been waiting in the wings in case the talks come to nothing.

Schlupp has not featured for City since November and has been used predominantly as a left-back by manager Nigel Pearson.

He is likely to come back into contention as a full-back for tomorrow's visit of Sheffield Wednesday to the King Power Stadium if Paul Konchesky is ruled out with a hamstring injury.

Konchesky limped off at half-time of Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Leeds and was being assessed yesterday.

Schlupp is not the only member of Pearson's squad to be courted by other clubs. Midfielder Ben Marshall is being watched by West Brom.

Albion have had representatives watch him at their last three home games, and head coach Steve Clark was at Tuesday's game with Leeds, where Marshall came on as a second-half substitute.

Meanwhile, City are offering supporters who are travelling to Tuesday night's vital clash against league leaders Cardiff two special offers as a 'gesture of appreciation' for their support.

All supporters who purchase a ticket for the Cardiff game will be entitled to use the Fox Away Travel service for just £10 – saving £12 per person, which City is subsidising.

Supporters will also be treated to a free, limited-edition blue-and-white bar scarf.

Supporters who have already purchased away travel can get a refund of the difference.

“Oh and one other thing that will deffo interest you Ulrika - I hear the club are planning to release a commemorative anniversary DVD later this year.

it's called: "Two places outside the play-offs: The glory days of SGE"...

It includes interviews with Michael Ball, Roman Bednar, and Derek Fazakerly.

And there's a special feature as Michael Johnson and John Paintsil share a super-size KFC bargain bucket and discuss that golden time, rolling around in a giant bed of cash taken from a Sven weekly pay packet. Eager fans will also find out how their careers have sky rocketed after they were released from their deals.

I have already placed my pre-order on the club's website, and would recommend others to do the same to avoid disappointment.”

“FF1 - do you realise that PROMOTION can only be achieved once a year, in May?

You seem to be angry that stupid Pearson has STILL failed to get us playing Premiership football this month.

You are another one who needs to re-familiarise themselves with the mechanics of the League system.

And technically the assets are the players CONTRACTS rather than the players themselves. With both Nuge and Kasper with not long to go on their contracts, their value as an asset is less than the recent aquisitions such as Knocky and Wood - both of whom are now worth more than for which we paid. Geddit?”

“Nigella... please stop the **** & post facts..
1). Pearson has also spent money since he's been back
2). Exactly where do you think the mega millions would be coming from if we were to sell our
Assets? Probably the most would be from Schmeichal & Nugent, both signed by the previous
    Manager!
3). He hasn't transformed us from a mid table club at all. We were two places outside the play-
offs when the previous manager got fired...& if the current trend of shipping points in games
we should be winning continues, that's exactly where we'll be again (treading water)

So spare us the Pearson heroics until he actually achieves something! A little reminder, he said himself at the big interview on his return " my brief is to get the club into the premier league & I am fully aware of the consequences if I don't achieve that"...

3 points against the Owls today & something at Cardiff will no doubt help his faltering cause...
the pack are breathing down our neck...not saying the eyes of the world are upon him, but just about every one in Leicester is...”

“Squirrel that makes no sense. Pearson's future at the club should be based on an objective review of his overall performance since he's been here, not the size of the debt that the OWNERS have racked up.

Pearson's profit and loss figures on the football side of the business (ie transfer fees and wages) are fantastic, and are certainly much better than those of most other clubs with rich foreign owners: Cardiff, Watford, Forest, Blackburn, Wolves and Hull.

In other words, Pearson has played a huge role in REDUCING THE DEBT.

At the same time he has managed to improve us from a mid-table club to a play-off club. He has also purchased assets (ie the players) whose sell-on value is now significantly higher than their cost price.

And all in his first full season in charge.

What more do you want from the guy?”

“Ghost we owe over 80 million to the owners in loans. OK they may be changing this to shares whatever but its owed nonetheless. In order to clear this we need the 150 million the premiership brings. so "why change a guy" is not really an option. It's promotion or goodbye I'm afraid.”

    “Squirrel... Calm down dear!

Tactically able! Nurture and bring the best out of our talent!

We've not had this magical manager in 10 years (125 + actually) but maybe, just maybe the next shot in the dark will be the "special one"

We all know it's frustrating but,,, This is the best it's been for years so why change a guy who has now got us into the top 6 twice in 2 goes?”

“raffman Kane is not a better player than Geoffrey. Pearson never shows faith in our youngsters. contrary to what certain know alls have said on here Liam WAS playing really well for us.I don't care what anyone else says ill be glad to see the back of Nigel Pearson and lets have a manager tactically able and one who knows how to nurture and bring the best out of OUR talent. I hope that if the season ends in abject failure I.e. We don't get promotion that the owners don't linger on with the guy thru the summer but get rid of him without delay.”

“Why 'O' why are we even considering the sale of Jeff Schlupp, he's a star of the future , if he wasn't Man U would not be looking at him and inviting him to train with them. I'm a Pearson believer but, if he lets Schlupp go, he will go down in my estimation and I will question his determination to build a team for the Premiership, or is it an instruction from above to recoup some money. Either way, if they sell him I will be deeply disappointed and will have to think about renewing my season ticket next season. I have always supported LCFC because I'm a Leicester born and bred lad. Don't sell him, full stop.”
