If your tastes run to pantomime and musical theatre, they're sure to be satisfied this week.

Thringstone Pantomime and Drama Society opens tomorrow night with a production of family favourite, Cinderella.

The show runs until Saturday, January 28, at Thringstone Community Centre.

Also running from tomorrow evening until January 28, is Disney's Beauty and the Beast, performed by Kirby Muxloe Players at the village hall.

Aladdin is the next production by Market Harborough Youth Theatre, and it takes place at Welland Park College Theatre, in the town, from Saturday until Saturday, January 28.

For full details of performance times and ticket availability, call 07887 895 982.

The musical Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is rarely staged by amateur companies, possibly due to the cast numbers required and the demands of its score.

But if past productions are anything to go by, Christchurch Theatre Club should be more than capable of the task.

They will be staging the show from Monday until January 28 at Loughborough Town Hall.

For tickets, contact the box office on 01509 231914.

KRR Operatic Society will be taking to the stage of the Little Theatre, Leicester, with its production of The Full Monty.

This musical about redundant workers coming up with a novel idea to earn money is based on the film of the same name but the action is moved from Sheffield to Buffalo, New York. The show runs from Tuesday until January 28.

Get your tickets from the Dover Street box office on 0116 255 1302.

Auditions are to be held this evening for New Quorndon Shakespeare Company's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream – from 7.30pm at Quorn village hall.

If this is a little short notice, then there will be further auditions on Thursday, January 26. For further details, contact Sharon Scott on 01509 567 176.

The Concordia Theatre, Hinckley, is looking for Mrs Doyles, Father Jacks or Bishop Brennans for a forthcoming production of Father Ted.

There will be a script read through and auditions tomorrow night in the theatre, at 7.30pm.

In addition, there are many smaller roles available. For further information, call Kay McMichael on 07702 967702.

By the way, if you are looking for somewhere to take the children on Saturday, then the Concordia Theatre could well be the place.

It will be holding an open morning, at which youngsters (accompanied by well-behaved adults) can take a tour behind the scenes and even get to meet members of the Aladdin panto cast.

Advance booking is recommended.
