Boxing: Pratt's star turn helps club end 24-year hoodoo
George Pratt turned in a polished performance to finally end a 24-year bogey at Leicester Railwaymens ABC.
Pratt became the first boxer from the city club, formerly the Old Robin Hood ABC, to defeat an opponent from Stevenage ABC when he outpointed Craig Callaghan.

The 15-year-old thoroughly deserved the unanimous decision, with a thoughtful, sharp performance, one of the highlights of a cracking bill put together by matchmaker Dave 'Sticky' Pratt.
Callaghan started the faster but it quickly became clear that Pratt was happy with his back to the ropes, slipping his rival's shots and replying with fast, accurate clusters of punches.
He switched smartly from head to body and also moved intelligently around the ring to ensure that the Stevenage lad was never able to pin him down and score with his own punches.
Callaghan did get in range in the third round to land a couple of crisp right hands, but by then Pratt was in the clear and only had to stay out of serious trouble to secure his fifth win.
Senior club-mate Reece Hulls was not so fortunate. He looked to have his bout with Bear Town's Terry Savage under control as he started brightly with rapid, two-fisted attacks.
Hulls began the second round in similar style but Savage began to impose himself in the closing stages of the session and he held sway in the final two minutes, pushing Hulls back on to the ropes to take a majority decision.
Schoolboy Rayen Kakad went down to a unanimous verdict against another boxer from the Congleton-based Bear Town club as George Frost took the honours.
It was a close-run affair, though, in what can only be described as a 'tear up' from first bell to last.
Technically, Kakad looked the better boxer, putting together his punches well.
But it was the weight and volume thrown by Frost which saw him edge the decision.
Had the Leicester boxer held his left hand higher, he could have blocked Frost's most potent weapon, an overhand right which he consistently whipped in to score with.
Earl Shilton's Sam Bowen added the Three Counties ABA light-welterweight title to his considerable collection with a convincing win over Burton Park's Aiden Sharpe. Bowen was too quick and strong for his rival and had him in real trouble in the opening session with a flurry of shots to head and body.
The pressure eased only when Bowen strayed with a low blow which earned him a ticking-off from referee Jeff Gibbs.
That was the only major blemish on Bowen's performance. His corner did urge him to tidy up his work at the end of the second round but he simply had too much artillery for Sharpe, who stuck gamely to his task without ever really threatening to knock the county man out of his stride.
