Pc Steve Freer said: "There were plenty of people in the area visiting the show so I am confident there are lots of witnesses out there who can help us.
"Although we have arrested two people, we are still carrying out inquiries and I would urge anyone with information about the incident to call us.
"I would ask that those witnesses call us while the memories are still fresh."
A 40-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman have been arrested and released on police bail while officers continue their investigation.

“I hope the condition of the young boy is improving. Speculation I know doesn't help, but this is reported to be a 'hit and run' incident and there's a couple of pubs just down the road from where the accident happened ! Drink /driver ?
The 'reporter' of this incident was in error. For the benefit of accuracy, this was adjacent to an exit road from the Victory Show, not the entrance.”
