All the pressure will be on Middlesbrough tonight when Leicester City run out at the Riverside, defender Bruno Berner believes.

An away trip to a side that has recently come down from the Premier League and are among the favourites to bounce straight back up may not be the best fixture to face straight after the disappointing home defeat to Preston on Saturday, but Berner says it is ideal.

The Swiss international defender thinks the weight of expectation will be firmly on Gareth Southgate's side, especially after their 5-0 drubbing against West Brom in their last home game and the manner in which they threw away a two-goal lead at Coventry City on Saturday.

Berner believes Boro may still be suffering from a hangover from their home shocker against Albion and City could take advantage.

"I still think there is some damage there from their last home game because they were smashed against West Brom," he said.

"I prefer a game like the one at Middlesbrough to bounce back more than any other. They have just been relegated from the Premier League but they were heavily beaten in their last home game.

"The pressure is on them. We will go up there as underdogs and there is a chance for us.

"The only pressure is that we want to get back on track, we want to recover from the Preston defeat and we really want to get something out of the game."

Boro have conceded seven in their last two games, but City have also not been as solid as they usually are, having conceded three in the second-half at Watford and two against Preston on Saturday.

Berner said he was unsure why a defence that was previously so sound was now so vulnerable, but stressed they had to return to their miserly ways quickly.

"We are concerned by the number of goals we have conceded in the last two games," he said.

"We have to improve very quickly because we had a decent start and now we have had a little setback. We have lost a bit of our compactness we had in games before.

"Even if you don't have the momentum in the game you still need to be patient and be compact. We did it in the games before and we haven't in the last two games. We need to get back on track and make more progress in that area."

Berner rejected the suggestion that City had started to over- commit themselves and he vowed he and fellow full-back Robbie Neilson would continue to join attacks.

"Robbie and I do like to go forward, but we are quite an attacking side, especially in home games," he explained. "You want to attack and not sit back.

"We want to attack and show everyone we are winners, but again we got caught in different areas where Preston were more clever than us on Saturday.''

Hinckley United have been handed a tough away test in the third qualifying round of the FA Cup. The Knitters face a trip to Southern Premier Division Cambridge City on October 10.

Hinckley booked their spot with a 2-1 win over Ridgeons' Premier club Kirkley & Pakefield.
