Buffaloes' £3,700 boost for Rainbows Appeal
NW Leicestershire: The Provincial Grand Lodge of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes Coalville and District held its annual dinner at the Appleby Inn Hotel at Appleby Parva.
During the celebrations the grand primo David Whetton presented a cheque for £3,700 to a friend of the Rainbows Appeal, Pauline Wells of Great Glen.
Countesthorpe: After a January break, Bootleggers Western Dance Club members are looking forward to getting back in line for lessons with teacher Jean Knott of Countesthorpe.
Last year ended on a high note when a fun Christmas Line Dance Party raised £300 for the Sightsavers charity, bringing the total raised by Bootleggers in 2009 – their 10th anniversary year – to £3,550. Sapcote: As part of a programme of physical activity in Blaby district, weekly classes in StreetDance are taking place at All Saints' Church Hall, Sapcote.
Classes run on Wednesdays, from 7pm to 8pm, until Wednesday, March 24. They cover a variety of dance styles and cost £2 per session. More details on 0116 272 7703.
WIGSTON: A service for Women's World Day of Prayer 2010 will be held at All Saints' Church, Bushloe End, on Friday, March 5, at 10.30am. It has been prepared by the Christian women of Cameroon and the theme is "Let everything that has breath praise God".
EVINGTON: Free cycling sessions are being run in Evington Park during the half-term break.
Beginners from 10am to noon, improvers from 1pm to 3pm.
