A burglar conned his way into an elderly woman’s home and stole her money while she was making him a cup of tea.
The man called at the woman’s home in Stocking Farm, Leicester and claimed to be an official who needed to inspect some paperwork.

When she returned from the kitchen he had disappeared along with her money.

Police released details of the burglary, which happened in Derry Walk between 6pm and 7pm on Friday, March 1.
Pc Raj Pahal said: “This was an extremely upsetting incident for the victim and has understandably left her shaken.
“I would appeal to anyone who was passing through the area at the time and saw a man matching this description.
“I would also like to hear from anyone else who has had a man matching this description knock on their door.”
The suspect is white, approximately 6ft, of medium build and between 40 and 50.
He had short light brown hair, a local accent and was wearing a suit.
