Burst pipe causes flooding in Grasmere Street and Mill Lane in Leicester near De Montfort University
Pedestrians and cyclists had to dodge an enormous pool of water after a water pipe burst near De Montfort University's campus.
The burst underground pipe, in Grasmere Street, forced the pavement to burst open, and saw water pouring into nearby Mill Lane.
A spokeswoman from Severn Trent said members of the public reported the leak to the company on Sunday and repairs began today.
She said: "We would like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding while we repair the burst water pipe.
