COMEDY FESTIVAL REVIEW: Mark Olver: featuring Russell Howard and Jon Richardson at Just The Tonic. Review by Gemma Collins
It's moments like this when you realise just how special Leicester Comedy Festival is.
I mean, how often do you witness Mark Olver, Russell Howard and Jon Richardson in the same, pretty intimate, room together?
Dancing About Architecture is Mark's show, of sorts. It's a chat scenario, a routine that brings comedians together to talk about, well, comedy.
In essence, it was three mates having a natter – admittedly, in front of a sold-out Just The Tonic – but it wasn't contrived. So much so, it feels a bit disrespectful spilling the beans.

Mark isn't keen on it either. His "chat shows" are a you had to be there affair; a privilege, given the calibre of comedian we were privy to.
I will tell you Jon gives out bananas at gigs. Or at least he offered Russell one the first time they met. "He's a fruit flogger," announced Russell. An instantaneous gag he flogged throughout.
They also agonised about their first and second place statuses in Heat magazine's latest table of top weird crushes and continually battered Mark with banter about his way with women.
Russell was energetic and enthused, while Jon kept to his quieter, more thoughtful self, delivering perfectly placed quips when appropriate.
As ever, Mark played the perfect host, but felt comfortable enough to sit back at times and let the magic unfold. Which it did.
