Drivers in Stoney Stanton are having to contend with camels as well as dinosaurs.

According to a roadside sign, drivers should watch out for camels in Clint Hill Drive after a silhouette of the animal was sneakily added to a 'humps for 700 yards' sign. It is the second Banksy-style sign alteration to raise a smile in the village, after a T-Rex popped up on a 'give way' notice in nearby Stanton Lane last summer.

However, Leicestershire County Council insisted removing the alteration was not a "top priority".

A spokesman said: "Camels are known for being resilient and hard-working, like our highway teams.

“It's a nice change to the usual alterations on clint hill drive... The L & I in clint are usually joined to spell something completely different!”
