DJ Campbell proves star turn for Leicester City before the floodlights go out
DJ Campbell was the shining light for Leicester City before floodlight failure curtailed their friendly against Rotherham last night.
The lights gave out with 10 minutes to play and City 2-1 ahead at the Don Valley Stadium.

Floodlight failure curtailed Leicester City's friendly against Rotherham last night
But new manager Paulo Sousa should be relatively pleased with what he saw from his side.
Campbell, in particular, impressed and he scored what would have been the winner in the 60th minute with an exquisite turn and strike from the edge of the penalty area.
It was his third goal in as many pre-season games and the 28-year-old, who appeared to be on his way out of the club at the end of last season, looked very sharp, especially in the second half when he linked up with Matty Fryatt in what could be a promising pairing.
Indeed he was given a standing ovation from the 100 or so City fans, who chanted his name as he was substituted.
City certainly looked dangerous going forward in the first half as they continued to get used to Sousa's style of football.
Paul Gallagher, playing as an attacking midfielder behind Steve Howard, looked particularly dangerous.
He opened the scoring after 12 minutes when Howard headed a deep Lloyd Dyer cross back into the six-yard box and Gallagher side-footed the ball home.
But, although City looked good going forward, they caused their own problems at the back. Tom Kennedy's poor back-pass to goalkeeper Chris Weale led to the Millers getting the equaliser.
Weale was beaten to the ball by Tom Elliott, was adjudged to have tripped the United midfielder and Adam Le Fondre stroked home the spot-kick.
City continued to create chances, and Gallagher and Campbell had excellent openings while Howard was a constant menace.
However, City never looked completely comfortable at the back.
Indeed, Le Fondre failed to connect with a header from six yards out after City had again been caught in possession outside their own penalty box.
City made eight changes at half-time and the hosts almost took the lead within 60 seconds when Elliott struck the foot of a post.
But after that City found their rhythm with Yann Kermorgant and Dany N'Guessan operating on the flanks in support of the lively front two of Campbell and Fryatt.
Fryatt had a great opportunity to score in the 52nd minute when Kennedy's superb pass released him but he was brushed off the ball by a Millers defender and his appeals for a penalty were waved away.
Campbell produced a stunning finish to put City back in front and, with a host of academy players on the pitch, including Tom Parkes, Jorrin John and Jeff Schlupp, City looked comfortable for the win.
But then the lights went out and, after the players waited for five minutes for the problem to be fixed, the referee decided to call a halt to proceedings 10 minutes early.
City: Weale, Adams, Morrison, Hobbs, Kennedy, King, Wellens, Gallagher, Dyer, Campbell, Howard. Subs: Fryatt, Logan, Oakley, Parkes, Neilson, N'Guessan, Kermorgant, John, Verma, Schlupp.

“Andy/ Keith I think they should let Neilson go if they can. Was poor last season. Like a lot of average Scottish players, just not up to Championship standard any more.Hopefully Sousa has a new right back in his sights.Does anyone know what happened to Gilbert who we had from Arsenal on loan a while back. Is he with another club now? Could be worth a go.”

“Has Neilson had a run on as yet? If not why don't they let him go? Another one of Pearsons magic signings, He wouldn't have played 4 whole games since signing for Leicester. What a terrible waste of a wage week in week out.”

“Hope he does settle ok, cos I like his attitude, I am sure Weale will get back in the zone, he's fairly solid most of the time.
I will reserve judgement on the DJ until he proves the doubters (me included) wrong.
Positive enough for you?”

“Think your being to hard on Kennedy, he made a couple of errors but overall looked quite decent, I would question Weale's lack of pace for not actually getting to the back pass, he also made a similar mistake minutes earlier and was lucky not to give away a pen then. DJ had a good game was just about the best player on the field. Sorry but I just don't trust the bloke and he is playing for a new deal elsewhere. Only scoring goals that matter will convince me otherwise.”

Steve, you have never met me, so how do you know where I am better off staying? I ended my post on a positive note!”
