“The argument isn't one of any potential harm to the individual........although if you are an individual that uses drugs then this narrows your perspective.
What is at risk is society and the values of society. Values that include the right to a peaceful existence and to safety in the community.
Drugs, or rather, drugs culture inevitably leads to conflict. Conflict between users and non users, conflict amongst dealers and conflict between enforcement agencies and those who are pro-drugs.
This potential for conflict can and does destabilise communities and leads to a fear of drugs.......quite rightly and naturally.
Legalising drugs will neither increase or decrease the use of drugs. What it will do is bring the sale and use of drugs more openly into neighbourhoods, communities, workplaces and will ultimately stretch the tolerance levels of ordinary folk to breaking point.
We have witnessed the effects of increased use of alcohol due to reducing prices and cultural acceptability/tolerance but problems with alcohol are reaching epidemic levels in the UK, particularly amongst our young people. It is desperately inhumane and irresponsible to even suggest that we introduce the same cultural acceptability and expectations of tolerance on society encompassing the legalisation of any drug (read: mind altering substance).
With this in mind, I raise an celebratory, proverbial flag in honour of every operation that reduces the growth of the drugs culture.
Congratulations to Police on this sizeable capture.”

“We need to lower the gun of prohibition, I for one refuse to listen to the harm of any drug until we take away the harm of enforced moral control. Heath promotion is no place for moral control, else our helping hand quickly becomes a hated controlling power. We deserve choice.
"Lower the gun and we can talk"”
