Car overturns into front garden in Groby, Leicestershire
A motorist had a lucky escape after the car he was driving collided with a telegraph pole in wet weather and ended up on its side in a front garden.
Emergency services were called to the scene, on the A50 Markfield Road, at Groby, at about 11.50am today.
They were greeted by the sight of a overturned car, lying on its side, just yards from the front door of a home.
Businessman Mark Allen, who runs Leicester Blinds Ltd, took this picture shortly after the collision.

He said: "It looked pretty nasty. If the car didn't hit the house, it was pretty damn close.
"And if it had happened two minutes earlier it would have wiped out a postman visiting the address."
A police spokesman said a male casualty, the car's lone occupant, was freed from the vehicle and treated for minor injuries by paramedics.
He said no-one in the house was injured and the two parties were able to exchange insurance details.
BT were alerted to the damage caused to the telegraph poll.
No other vehicle was involved.
