Cash lift for car sharing for Leicestershire Chamber of Commerce
Leicestershire Chamber of Commerce has been awarded £5,000 towards introducing a green travel scheme for firms and their employees.
The cash was awarded by Leicester City Council in the form of a Leicester Fit for Business grant.
Part-funded by the Department of Transport, the cash will help businesses involved with the Smarter Travel Leicester programme, which seeks to encourage car sharing.
The Fit 4 Business grants aim to promote sustainable travel, including walking, cycling, car sharing and public transport
Martin Traynor, managing director of Leicestershire Chamber of Commerce said: "Single occupancy of cars in Leicester can be very much reduced."
