Buyers from across the world travelled to Castle Donington for an event which showcased firms involved in green technology.

Representatives from companies in China, Mexico and Australia were among 50 international buyers who attended the Green Technology Roadshow at the Radisson Blu Hotel, at East Midlands Airport.

The event, organised by UK Trade and Investment, saw them introduced to about 70 local companies which specialise in environmentally friendly energy solutions and services.

Luis Escorcia Lopez, a buyer from waste management specialists Sitrasa, in Salamanca, Mexico, said: "We see the UK as being the world leader in this sector, hence our attendance at this event. We were impressed with what we saw."
