The future of an electrical store is in doubt as its owner stands on the brink of collapse.

It was announced yesterday that Comet was to go into administration on November 5 after it hit major financial problems.

The electrical goods chain employs 7,000 staff and has 243 stores, including one in St George's Retail Park, Leicester. It is believed this outlet employs at least 10 people.

Customers with outstanding orders and gift cards and vouchers are being told it is "business as usual until further notice" and the group intends to fulfil deliveries of products paid for.
