Leicester City has announced that King Power International (KPI) has taken direct ownership of the football club from Asia Football Investments (AFI).

KPI is owned by the Raksriaksorn family and is the parent and holding company of King Power Group.

Before the announcement, Leicester City had been wholly owned by the Raksriaksorn Family through Asia Football Investments (AFI).

The club website said there will be no change in the board or management of the football club and the takeover has been fully approved by the Football League.

Leicester City vice-chairman Aiyawatt Raksriaksorn said: “This is all part of our plan to fund and deliver a programme of long-term, sustainable success for the football club. We are delighted to bring Leicester City directly under the ownership of King Power International, where it will be established as a core part of the group’s overall interests.

“The last two years have been an incredible experience and we firmly believe we have the key elements in place, both on and off the pitch, to take Leicester City back to the Premier League.”

“could we be on our way to a charity match against
    Pompey?

    The winner stays in business?”

“I suspect they have bought out the 20 per cent share of Asia Football Investments, the unknown. Taking under King Power ownership is a smart move on their part, less tax to pay as LCFC is loss making, thus writing off those losses against the rest of the group's profits while maintaining a substantial asset.”

“A wee bit nervous about this. If it's not going to make any differance, why have they done it?
maybe the family have just run out of play money. It's going to be very interesting to see what happens over the next few months if we don't start winning a few games.
Supporting L.C.F.C has never been dull, and not recommended for the faint hearted.”
