Changes make it harder for benefit recipients
People who get housing and council tax benefit will soon be having this added to their unemployment benefit so they will have to pay it for themselves. It will not be done automatically.
How many will use this money when they see extra on their benefits? They already get next to nothing, so temptation will be there.
Why are councils making it harder to pay rent anyway?
Our office is shut for two days a week and the council has changed it so you can't pay your rent there anyway, you have to find a PayPoint shop. They're making it harder to pay and putting temptation there.

It's a certainty some people will fall behind with their payments and it will only lead to more court cases.

“@ Bapcav: lapdog. You too reveal such tendencies with the added insight on your lack of originality – the tendency of people who seek to silence others by labelling, categorising and dismissing is the trait of the bully.
@Eastonian: Your inability to resist labelling, and scapegoating reveals your ignorance and knee-jerk bigotry.”

“Label,Categorise, and dismiss - typical act of the softminded disengaged. The scapegoating by this shower of hired hands that purports to be a government - Riddled with corruption and not fit for purpose. Exciting the dull, and the ignorant to take up the cudgel to attack the vulnerable, the disabled, the poor, the unemployed person and the fragile. Bully boy tactics to divide and rule they know they can rely on the softminded to judge and assume: ie "Just get out of bed and try it" - How pathetic!”

“And just exactly why shouldn't the benefit system be reformed?!!
As for the City Council making it "harder" to pay rent what poppycock. If your unemployed you've got every day in the week to do it. Just get out of bed and try it!!”
