A charity ball raised nearly £1,000 for the charity Support Our Soldiers.

Barry Halliday, a former member of the 4th/7th Royal Dragoon Guards, organised the black tie event, which included a meal, disco and entertainment by comedian Mark Rough.

A raffle and auction on the night had prizes supplied by businesses.

The ball took place on Saturday, February 27, at Six Hills Hotel at Melton. It raised a total of £969.50.
