Charity sends 150 parcels to soldiers
A total of 150 Christmas parcels have been sent to soldiers in war zones from people in Leicestershire.
Packages, including cakes, sweets, toiletries and other goodies, were collected by the regional branch of the Support Our Soldiers charity during the past few months.

They went to troops stationed abroad during the festive season, including those in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo, the Falklands and ships in the Gulf and Atlantic.
Among those who donated parcels included staff at Loughborough and Wigston police stations, doctors and nurses at Leicester Royal Infirmary and county businesses including KP Foods, United Biscuits, Quorndon Foods and Mannix Securities.
Amanda Crowden, area coordinator for the charity, said: "I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who wrote letters, cards and sent donations and parcels to me to forward to our troops on deployment.
"I was overwhelmed by the response. It was also heartwarming to know that many of you across the county lit candles on Christmas Day to remember those on deployment, the fallen and their families. We appreciate your support.
"Well done the people of Leicester, who have once again rallied round to show support and respect for our brave troops."
The charity will continue to send welfare packages out to troops abroad throughout the year.
