Charnwood Sunday League football: Pitman's double leads Wymeswold into second round
Wymeswold cruised into the second round of the Premier Cup after a 5-2 second-leg win at home against Gaunt.
Having already established a 4-1 lead in the first leg, Wymeswold were again in free-scoring mood with goals from Rob Pitman (2), Adam Beasley, Ryan Page and Scott McLennon. Carl Adams hit a double for Gaunt.
Ashby Rovers also booked their place in the second round after a 4-1 victory against Loughborough Falcons, having drawn the first leg 3-3.
Inns scored twice for Ashby, Dornas and Short getting the others.
Quorn Royals and Loughborough Saints drew 2-2 in their first-leg match.
In the second round of the Williams Davis Cup, Cropston Rangers won 6-4 at home against Riverside thanks to a McNeesh hat-trick and goals from Prince (2) and Waugh. Tom Mariott bagged a treble for Riverside.
Sileby Athletic beat holders Hathern Three Crown 3-0 in an all-Division One clash, the goals coming from Doherty, Tuckley and Allard.
Burton Sunday beat Loughborough Saints Reserves 5-3 with doubles from Biddles and Heffer.
Three goals from Yovan Maric and one from Bunting saw Birstall Stamford Reserves to a 4-2 win at Sporting Charnwood.
Sporting Loughborough beat hosts Swannington 2-1 with strikes from McFadden and Healey. Armstrong scored for the home side.
Shepshed United won 3-1 at Long Whatton thanks to goals from Scott (2) and Unwin. Brookes was on the mark for Whatton.
FC Hob beat last year's finalists FC Poplar 8-0. There was a hat-trick for Walton with McKinlay (2), Bailey, Hawkins and Msembi making up the haul.
Markfield Rangers won 7-0 at Loughborough Academicals thanks to doubles from Brown and Stafford, and one apiece from Quilter, Hill and Cooper.
Goals from May and Howard earned Twelve a 2-0 win at Markfield Rangers Reserves in the second round of the S&L Trophies. Hugglescote United beat Racing Club 6-2 through Collier (2), Muskin (2), Jackson and Merry.
Birstall Trees beat Ashby Rovers Reserves 3-1 after extra-time with Iliffe, Plumb and Steer on target.
Charnwood beat Ashby Lamb 5-2, and Cross Keys Newbold defeated Hillmoren 6-1 thanks to goals from Mead (3), Commons (2) and Jenkins.
Goals from Ben Erp and Leon Yeomans gave Breedon a 2-1 win at FC Griffin.
Whitwick Compass reached the semi-finals of the Sunday Premier Cup with a 4-1 win at Glenfield Town through Hill (2), Phillips and Blythe.
