Child psychiatry expert keeps health trust role

An expert in child psychiatry has been re-appointed to the board of a mental health trust.

Professor Panos Vostanis, who has more than 20 years' experience in clinical and academic fields of mental health, has been a non-executive director at Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust for eight years.

He has been involved in the development and implementation of local and national policies for children.

Prof Vostanis was a member of the expert panel for the National Child Mental Health Services review being carried out by the Department for Education.

During his academic career, which includes being professor of child psychiatry at the University of Leicester, he has continued to work in a clinical capacity.

Prof Vostanis's appointment is for a two-year term. He will be paid £6,096 a year.
