A shop manager has been rewarded for notching up 35 years' service for his employer.

Chris Newman, who is manager of Market Bosworth Lateshop, was among 11 members of staff who received long-service awards from the Heart of England Co-operative Society.

Father-of-two Mr Newman, 51, started as a Saturday boy at the Hinckley and Barwell Co-operative Society. He worked at various food stores in Nuneaton, Earl Shilton, Bulkington and Bedworth, before moving to Market Bosworth 11 years ago.
