Civic reception for victorious Leicester Riders
A civic reception is to be held to honour the Leicester Riders following the club's victory in the BBL Cup championship.
Players and coaches from the basketball club will be guests of the Lord Mayor councillor Abdul Osman.

The Riders won the BBL Cup last month with a thrilling 85-80 defeat of the holders Newcastle Eagles - ending the club's 12-year wait for silverware.
Coun Osman will host the reception at the Town Hall on Thursday.

"The city is proud of its sporting achievements and I am delighted to be able to help celebrate the Rider's success with this reception."
Players from the Leicester Riders will stage a basketball demonstration in the Town Hall Square from 3.30pm, ahead of the reception.
Riders head coach Rob Paternostro said: "We are all looking forward to the civic reception at the Town Hall.
"It's an honour and a day that will be very special for the club."

“Its not that long ago the Riders were struggling both on and off the pitch. Its great that they have won something, hopefully this is the first of many trophies. Another success by a Leicester sports team.”
