With his VW camper van on display, Daniel Poxon was one of hundreds of motoring enthusiasts who attended the annual Classic Car and Transport Show yesterday.

Vehicles dating back to the early 1930s, including MGs, Chevrolets and Cadillacs, were on display at the show at Beaumanor Hall, in Woodhouse.

The event, due to take place in July, was postponed until yesterday due to waterlogged grounds.

Daniel, 34, of Whitwick, said: "It's been a really good day, absolutely lovely, and the weather has really helped.

"I brought the van for people to have a look but I don't stay with it all day, I like to go and see some of the other cars as well.

"I tend to come to this show every year, it's a good one. I've got another old car as well, a Hillman Imp, so it's always good for getting spare parts."

As well as the cars, craft fair stalls were set up inside the hall and visitors were also given the opportunity to take tours.
